Solution 1
GNSS Interference Detection & Positioning Support
GNSS jamming and spoofing are being reported with increasing frequency in several maritime regions. When satellite-navigation data becomes unreliable, bridge teams need a means of identifying the problem and supporting their onboard decisions with an independent reference.
This solution uses PntGuard GNSS positioning technology to deliver an independent positioning reference that can be compared against satellite-navigation data to help identify suspected interference. It supports onboard decision-making and does not replace approved navigation practices or the Master's responsibility for safe navigation.
Practical benefits
- Provides an independent positioning reference alongside satellite-navigation data
- Supports bridge teams in identifying suspected GNSS interference or spoofing
- Helps crews make more informed decisions when electronic positioning becomes unreliable
Operational considerations
This solution does not guarantee accurate positioning during active spoofing and does not automatically correct onboard navigation equipment. Background mapping is for situational reference only — it does not constitute a navigational chart.
Typical applications
Merchant vessels transiting regions where GNSS interference has been reported — including parts of the Eastern Mediterranean, Black Sea approaches, Baltic and Middle East. Operators seeking an additional layer of positioning awareness for bridge teams navigating in higher-risk electronic environments.
